Three Muslims Murdered in North Carolina

We must always beware the danger of blaming a whole people for the sins of a few. People such as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh like to blame Islam for being the religion of the barbarian extremists in the Middle East. Will they also use the same logic to blame all of America for the recent murder of three Muslims in Chapel Hill, NC?

Blame is a worthless tool of the devil, a cheap and misleading imitation of responsibility. it does no good to ask who is to blame for the killing of the three UNC students but we can ask a better question: What is our response, our responsibility at such a time? We Americans seem to be one of the most violence-loving people of all time. We call it entertainment. Who are we to complain about someone else’s violence?

Look at this picture carefully. Did these people, who were married just a couple of months ago, deserve murder? Or, to put the matter differently, do racists and bigots really think America is better off with them than with Muslims? Or, yet another question, do those people who speak hatred not bear serious responsibility for changing the atmosphere of hatred in America?
