- Trump has asked a lawyer named A. B. Culvahouse to help identify good vice-presidential prospects. He seems a fine fellow except for one tiny glitch in his career: He did the same task for John McCain. . .who chose Sarah Palin. That doesn’t speak highly for A. B. Culvahouse, does it?
- Whenever I get a soft drink in a plastic cup at a fast food place, I save the cup. I just happen to notice that I have a Taco Bell cup on my desk at the moment. It has a photo of an evil-looking person in a mask along with a quote from “Reaper.” The words are, “Revenge is sweet.” What does it tell us about the degradation of American culture that Taco Bell would consider such terribly rotten advice to be an attractive decoration for its cups? It furthers my conviction that one of the greatest forces for evil in our society since WW II has been the advertising industry. They have been the purveyors of trashy values for profit. And that gives them the moral stature of prostitutes.
