Mitch McConnell, majority leader in the Senate, is bothered that Democrats are complaining that he is trying to railroad the confirmations of trump’s cabinet nominees before they can be properly vetted. He says they should grow up.
The Orwellian worm is flourishing among the Republicans, where truth is being reversed day by day. The man who once recognized what a terrible leader trump would make now supports him. McConnell knows as well as anyone that trump is a school yard bully who is not as mature as the average Jr. Hi. student — and I do not mean that as hyperbole but as my serious understanding of who trump is.
The severe loss if integrity among Washington’s Republicans (with few exceptions) means America is going to be so seriously wounded during these next few years that it will take us decades to recover. And that, too, is my serious estimation, not an exaggeration. It can certainly be argued that we have not yet recovered from the assassination of JFK or the deceitfulness of Nixon.
If Nixon broke the trust of the American people nearly half a century ago and we’re still struggling with the results, how much worse we will be because of the total lack of trustworthiness in trump and his family and associates?
May God arouse the church in America to cease being merely a cultural subgroup and return again to our real calling as followers of the living Lord Jesus Christ.
