An Addict at the Helm

By any definition I can imagine, Trump has a serious addiction problem. I don’t mean this figuratively but literally. He is addicted to Twitter and cannot break with it or control what he says on Twitter. He does not hold himself responsible for his words and his staff team of enablers refuses to do so.

He claims, in a silly rationalization, that he uses Twitter to speak directly and honestly with the nation, not realizing that far more often than not he is simply making a terrible fool of himself. And very rarely could we say his tweets have any degree of honesty about them.

Unable to conceive of himself as having any flaws, he is blind to the substantial nature of the many criticisms he receives, passing them off as merely personal attacks. The long-time practitioner of personal attacks does not believe he himself ought to be attacked or even criticized.

An addict and his enablers — a fine team to be leading the most powerful nation the earth has ever seen.
